Enrollment of IDPs into the FCT Health Insurance Scheme

Last year, our organization championed the inclusion of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Abuja into the FCT Health Insurance Scheme, as part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind in the pursuit of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

While many IDPs were successfully enrolled, internal administrative challenges unfortunately hindered them from enjoying the full benefits of the scheme. We are excited to share that those issues have been resolved, and fresh enrollment is being carried out!

This marks a renewed opportunity for displaced persons to access essential healthcare services, a crucial step toward restoring dignity, equity, and resilience among vulnerable populations.

At CHELD, we remain steadfast in our mission to break barriers to healthcare access, amplify the voices of the marginalized, and work collaboratively with government and partners to make UHC a lived reality for all. We are thankful to the FCT Health Insurance Scheme for being devoted to their mandate.

Together, we can build a Nigeria where every individual, regardless of status or circumstance, can access the care they need and deserve.
