We are proud to share that CHELD, represented by our Executive Director, participated in the validation of Nigeria’s first-ever National Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management (MHHM) Policy; a remarkable step to transform menstrual health across the nation.
This policy is a bold stride toward ensuring that menstruation never limits education, dignity, or opportunity for women and girls. It provides a unified framework to:
- Ensure access to safe and affordable menstrual products
- Strengthen WASH facilities in schools and communities
- Drive awareness and end stigma through advocacy
- Foster multi-sectoral collaboration for sustainable impact
For us at CHELD, this is more than legislation, it is a foundation for equity, dignity, and empowerment. But validation is only the beginning. The real work lies in turning commitments into change that can be felt in classrooms, workplaces, markets, and homes.
Together, we can bring this policy to life and create a future where every girl and woman can manage her period with confidence and dignity.
