Last year, CHELD supported the development of the National Referral Mechanism (NRM), an important framework designed to strengthen protection for vulnerable migrants, including victims of trafficking.
At a stakeholder meeting in Abuja, attended by key actors in Nigeria’s migration space, Prof. Cheluchi Onyemelukwe presented a detailed overview of the mapping activities carried out to expand the NRM and strengthen support systems for those most at risk.
CHELD is proud to have contributed to this important initiative, which aims to broaden protection beyond victims of trafficking to include other categories of vulnerable migrants.
