Our aim is to foster resilience and independence through a safety net that promotes dignity, hope, and opportunities.
In line with our objective, we successfully intervened and secured the release of a 30-year-old lady who was remanded in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Services for a almost a year.
At the time of our intervention, the victim was heavily pregnant with child and not too long after the case was brought to our attention, she delivered a baby who needed the help of an incubator to stay alive because she was born pre-term.
CHELD secured the release of the victim, alongside her child. She is now reunited with her family and rebuilding her life.
We are deeply committed to addressing the challenges faced by the most vulnerable in our society, ensuring they receive the support and protection necessary to improve their circumstances and uphold their rights
