CHELD provides rehabilitation and
support through its rehabilitation programs
CHELD’s current activities include the Suicide Prevention Project under its Mental Health Project. The LCR2 Project advocates for the decriminalization of attempted suicide in Nigeria.
Through this Project, CHELD has provided legal support and representation, appearing before courts and obtaining the release of persons who have attempted suicide from prisons. CHELD provides rehabilitation and support through its rehabilitation programs.
CHELD’s work on decriminalizing attempted suicide has appeared in several local and international media outlets, including a CNN appearance in December, 2018, an appearance in Nigeria’s Punch newspaper: Police release youth who attempted suicide – Punch Newspapers (punchng.com) amongst others.
