CHELD’s Climate and Health Programme is a strategic intervention aimed at addressing the intersection of environmental change and public health, with a focus on the unique vulnerabilities faced by women, children, and underserved communities in Nigeria.
Nigeria is increasingly facing the adverse effects of climate change, which include rising temperatures, extreme weather events, water scarcity, and pollution, all of which have serious implications for public health. These environmental challenges contribute to the spread of infectious diseases, food insecurity, respiratory illnesses, displacement, and disruption of healthcare systems.
CHELD’s Climate and Health Programme seeks to provide practicable solutions to these issues through research, policy advocacy, legal reform, and community engagement.
